#17 Imagine your favourite person and draw them from memory

Here he is!

#16 Draw your mind

It started off as just a circle - sometimes empty, sometimes full, part of the universe.

Then I decided that actually, there's usually a lot going on in my mind and my thoughts are usually a jumbled mess jumping around all over the place exploring ideas

#15 Draw what you doodle while you're on hold

This was tricky. A doodle tends to be almost subconscious. When I tried to draw what I may doodle whilst on hold I was thinking about it too much and it seemed too controlled. I tried to think what the subjects of my doodles usually were and whether I could draw a picture of the thing I may doodle but my doodles are usually abstract so that didn't work. So instead, here are a couple of doodles I found myself doing whilst actually on the phone. Not on hold but I was doodling.

and this is when I tried to draw what I doodle while I'm on hold

#14 Draw the most gentle tangle of lines

On a small piece of paper I brought lines in, one at a time, tied them around each other and took them off the edge of the paper again.

#13 Draw something that is moving

Some really quick sketches of musicians at a jazz gig. They just don't stand still!

Interesting to try and capture some of the energy and movement without getting too caught up in the detail.

#12 Draw a dizzy line onto a crumpled piece of paper

Dizzy line drawn onto crumpled paper

and opened out again

I tried drizzling a dizzy line with paint in a squirty bottle but it came out in blobs instead of a line. So I crumpled the paper up again, flattened it out a bit and drew dizzy lines with pencils, holding them very loosely at the top so that the tip bumped up and down over the crumples.

I used water colour pencils, dipping them in water from time to time, which gave quite a nice irregularity to my dizzy line

#11 Draw a journey

We are bombarded with information all around us. I didn't draw whilst driving, though. As passenger, I drew random signs and shapes I saw in passing along the route of our journey.
